James Sudworth
Independent Equity Release Adviser
Former Chair of the Equity Release Council's Adviser Forum
About James
Unlike most lifetime mortgage advisers, James began his career in a specialist equity release law firm, giving him a unique dual perspective on both the legal and financial aspects of later life lending. After graduating with a first-class law degree, he worked at Equilaw — one of the UK's leading equity release solicitors — before moving into financial advice in 2017.
James progressed quickly, earning employee of the month and employee of the year awards for his dedication, exceptional knowledge and customer service. His legal background means he can support clients throughout the entire equity release process, including navigating complex conveyancing and legal issues that often arise with lifetime mortgages.
Now based in North Wales, James advises clients across Mid & North Wales and throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, offering telephone, video and face-to-face appointments.

Equity release is not suitable for everyone. It will reduce the value of your estate and may affect your entitlement to means-tested benefits. A lifetime mortgage is secured against your home. Always seek independent legal advice before proceeding.
